IB Diploma Programme
The Northcoast Preparatory and Performing Arts Academy (NPA) is an International Baccalaureate World School authorized to offer the IB Diploma Programme since July 2004. The International Baccalaureate® (IB) offers high quality programs of international education to a worldwide community of schools in 136 countries.
At the Northcoast Preparatory and Performing Arts Academy, every Junior and Senior student is enrolled in the IB Diploma Programme. It is a comprehensive, challenging two-year curriculum, primarily aimed at students aged 16 to 19, widely recognized by leading universities around the world.
Students at NPA complete IB exams in Biology, English, French, History, Mathematics, Music, Philosophy, Spanish, Theatre Arts, and Visual Arts. Approximately 80% of our students receive their IB Diplomas, and their average Diploma scores have been at or above the worldwide average.
NPA is the smallest IB Diploma school in the U.S. The fact that all of our Juniors and Seniors participate in the program together creates an intense and close-knit academic environment.
NPA is a rural, open-access, public charter school serving the northern region of California with 40% of our students qualifying for Title I support. We welcome and seek students from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic backgrounds.
