Jane’s Creek Restoration Project

Under the supervision of NPA science teacher Alyssa Guerrero, NPA has established a partnership with the City of Arcata to assist with the removal of invasive species from Jane’s Creek. NPA students have been working to remove the Reed Canary Grass that prevents Coho salmon from swimming up the creek and using it as a spawning ground. Students have also been gathering data and analyzing changes in the creek habitat throughout the restoration process.
